Robert M. Buxbaum, D.M.D.

Dr. Buxbaum was raised in southern California, the son of a physician and a registered nurse. He attended the University of California at Berkeley for fours years where he received a B.A. in Bacteriology in 1978. Following graduation he reversed his father’s footsteps and went eastward to Boston. He attended Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, and earned a degree in Dental Medicine in 1982. Dr. Buxbaum continued his education and training at Boston University as a surgical resident in oral and maxillofacial surgery. His surgical training involved coverage of several area hospitals, including Boston City Hospital, Boston University Medical Center, and Tufts New England Medical Center. In 1985 he was selected as chief resident in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Boston University. Upon completion of his surgical training Dr. Buxbaum joined the private practice of Dr. Allen Friedman in Billerica, Massachusetts. A second office was opened in 1991 in Westford, MA. They practiced together until Dr. Friedman’s retirement in 2006. Dr. Buxbaum earned specialty board status in 1987 and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Dental Association. He has a special interest in outpatient anesthesia and impacted wisdom teeth. In his free time, Dr. Buxbaum enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys.
