Maylene Chu, D.M.D.

Dr. Chu was raised in Kentucky where she attended Murray State University for her undergraduate education. She completed her dental training at the University of Louisville, graduating with honors. Dr. Chu had a high interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and extended her exposure to the specialty through an internship at the Medical University of Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Chu went on to complete her surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. She was the first female surgeon to come from that program. She was selected to continue on as an Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Chu joined the practice of Drs. Buxbaum and Beanland, New England Oral Surgery Associates, in 2006. Dr. Chu earned specialty board status in 2006 and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and carries certification in sedation and general anesthesia. She places particular value on patient comfort and gentle surgery.
