Meet Dr. Tony Kang, DMD
Dr. Tony Kang was born in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. He moved to Alabama at a young age with his mother and younger sister to begin a new life in America. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering and graduate studies in Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During his time at the university, he fell in love with his wife, Down, who is a nurse and shares his passion for helping those in need.
Dr. Kang pursued his dream of becoming an oral/maxillofacial surgeon at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center by completing a four-year training program in oral/maxillofacial surgery, medicine, and anesthesia, including a pediatric anesthesia rotation at the distinguished Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. While training, he had the opportunity to travel to Bangalore, India, to assist the senior surgeons of Smile Train unit in providing surgical care for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate.
Dr. Tony Kang is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American Dental Association.
Dr. Tony Kang is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Kang is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Outside the Office
Outside of work, Dr. Tony Kang enjoys spending time with his wife and his kids, Olivia and Theodore. He enjoys outdoor activities such as running, tennis, and swimming.
