Dr. Albert Kang is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who provides comprehensive surgical care to patients at our Billerica, Westford, and Worcester locations. Known for his meticulous technique and compassionate approach, Dr. Kang specializes in facial trauma, jaw surgery, and adult and pediatric anesthesia.

Education and Surgical Training

Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Kang completed his undergraduate degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the University of Iowa. It was there that he met his wife, Jin, and discovered his passion for combining science with patient care.

Dr. Kang earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he completed an internship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University Hospital, followed by a comprehensive four-year surgical residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

This advanced training equipped him with surgical expertise in:

Facial trauma and fracture management
Orthognathic (jaw) surgery
Dentoalveolar surgery, including tooth extractions and impacted canines
Pediatric and adult anesthesia, including general anesthesia
TMJ disorder evaluation and treatment
Dental implants and bone grafting procedures
Oral pathology and biopsy procedures

Board Certification and Professional Affiliations

Dr. Kang is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and maintains active certification in:

Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

When he’s not in the operating room, Dr. Kang enjoys spending time with his wife Jin and their twin daughters, Audrey and Nora. He’s an avid golfer and also enjoys swimming, soccer, and basketball in his free time.
