Meet Dr. Beanland
Dr. Beanland was raised in Massachusetts where he attended Merrimack College and received a B.A. in Biology in 1984. He then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and earned a degree in Dental Medicine in 1992, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Beanland continued his education and training at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he earned a degree in Medicine in 1995. He completed an internship in General Surgery during the following year at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Beanland then completed his surgical residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and anesthesia training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1998. Upon completing his surgical training, Dr. Beanland served as a Major in U.S. Army Dental Corps until 2003. He was the base Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Ft. Irwin, CA (Army National Training Center) for 3 years. He was then selected for a teaching position at Madigan Army Medical Center, Ft. Lewis, WA, where he was the assistant director,
Dr. Beanland is an executive committee member of the Massachusetts Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. As such, he is a member of the anesthesia subcommittee and is actively engaged in promoting safe office-based anesthesia techniques in oral and maxillofacial surgery offices.
Dr. Beanland has a special interest in outpatient pediatric anesthesia and surgery. His practice vision is to always provide comfortable, safe and advanced anesthesia options to his patients. His typical morning schedule involves several pediatric and adolescent surgeries with general anesthesia.
Dr. Beanland also has extensive experience with dental implant surgery and grafting. Patients with very complex or very aesthetic implant surgery cases are often referred to Dr. Beanland for treatment. Many are “Full or complete arch cases”. He has partnered with a Westford prosthtodontist (Dr. Ramesh Kare) to provide a more advanced and less costly full arch implant solution for his patients. Dr. Beanland is a volunteer oral and maxillofacial surgeon with Faith in Practice (faithinpractice.org). This nonprofit, led by a very dedicated and professional Houston based staff, has served the wonderful but very poor people of Guatemala for 25 years. He travels yearly as part of a medical team to perform oral and maxillofacial surgery in very remote villages of Guatemala. He considers it a privilege to do so.
Other interests include wisdom teeth removal, jaw reconstruction, bone grafting, and the management of face and jaw trauma.
Dr. Beanland enjoys coastal Maine, sailing, skiing, and the outdoors with his friends and family.
