Dr. Beanland is the Treasurer of the Massachusetts Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also an active member of the society’s executive committee. As such, he is a member of the anesthesia subcommittee and is actively engaged in promoting safe office-based anesthesia techniques in oral and maxillofacial surgery offices.

Pediatric Anesthesia and Surgery

Dr. Beanland has a special interest in outpatient pediatric anesthesia and surgery. His practice vision is to always provide comfortable, safe and advanced anesthesia options to the youngest patients. Many of these pediatric patients have special needs. His typical morning schedule involves several pediatric and adolescent surgeries with general anesthesia. He is highly experienced with pediatric surgery and anesthesia, involving facial/jaw infection, pathology and trauma in young children.

Implant Surgery

Dr. Beanland also has extensive experience with dental implant surgery and grafting to reconstruct the jaws for implants.  Patients with very complex or very aesthetic implant surgery cases are often referred to Dr. Beanland for treatment. Many are “Full or complete arch cases” where a patient requires removal of all teeth and reconstruction with implants.  This allows the patient’s dentist to secure a prosthesis (e.g. Hybrid) to the implants.

Other Professional Interests

Other interests include wisdom teeth removal, jaw reconstruction, bone grafting, and the management of face and jaw trauma.

Outside the Office

Dr. Beanland enjoys coastal Maine, sailing, Vermont skiing, and what the outdoors offers with his wife Sarah, 2 boys, and friends.
